i don\'t quite get what you are trying to do. you want to buy chinese stock in china or US listed chinese stock?
US listed chinese stocks are just like any other US stocks. you can buy one share at a time.
as for chinese stocks in china, most brokerage don\'t allow purchase or sale of them. but they do safe keeping of stock certificates for a fee.
if you really want to buy chinese stocks in china, i recommend you buy some of the mutual funds. there are quite a few. however, the risks are always high because of the speculative nature of the chinese market and the lack of internal governance within the companies leads to problems... you should let the professionals do the work for you. the quarterly or semi-annually balanced funds are a good thing.
Addendum: in short, you can NOT buy individual chinese stocks in the US, which i said in my original response.
A2: where is no way for you to open an account, unless you have a residence in china and have the proper id to open the account. funny thing, i just asked a friend of mine, who used to manage a branch of ping\'an brokerage firm, about this. i was thinking about the same thing but decided to go with mutual funds and etfs.

Thanks, oxymoron. I finally give up. You are persistant, and your answer is the best so far.
I think you might right that you can't buy Chinese stocks in the U.S. unless you can open an account in China.
